One Circle at a Time — Drawing Your Mind Back to Stillness
At that time, my mind was overflowing.
Meetings, messages, unfinished tasks — everything was fighting for my attention. After work, I’d sit on the sofa, spacing out, not even sure what I was thinking about. I wanted to do everything, yet couldn’t start anything.
One day, a friend suggested I try drawing mandalas.
I laughed and thought: it’s just drawing, not real meditation.
But I was wrong.
Repetition: the quiet magic of mandalas
Mandala, in Sanskrit, means “circle”.
From the center, you move outward, one ring at a time. Each layer repeats similar geometric patterns. It looks complex, but at its core, it’s simply repetition.
When your hand starts following the grid lines, when your eyes focus only on that tiny section in front of you, all the noisy thoughts in your head seem to go on mute for a while.
They don’t disappear. They just quiet down.
Ninety minutes without checking my phone
The first time I drew a mandala, it took about an hour and a half.
I didn’t check my phone once. I didn’t think about tomorrow’s meetings. I didn’t worry about that unanswered email.
There was only the sheet of paper in front of me, and the pattern slowly growing, ring by ring.
When I finished, I didn’t feel like I’d done anything impressive. I just felt calm — a gentle, long-missed kind of calm.
Have you felt that before?
No talent needed — only the willingness to sit down
Mandalas don’t ask for artistic talent.
All they ask is that you’re willing to sit down and treat that small space in front of you slowly, attentively.
You don’t have to worry about whether it “looks good”. Mandalas already come with their own inner order — if you follow the grid and choose harmonious colors, it will be beautiful.
That feeling of “if I just follow the steps, it will turn out fine” is rare in everyday life.
If your mind has been noisy lately, you might give yourself a mandala evening. No experience needed. A sheet of grid paper, a few colored pens, and a quiet corner — that’s enough.
In our courses, we also offer mandala workshops, starting from basic geometric divisions to color choices, with someone guiding you through each step. But you can also simply start tonight, on your own, and see where the circles take you.
